JOIN US FOR OUR 5TH ANNUAL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS CELEBRATION !
Rosita's Fine Mexican Food Restaurants has partnered with Kyrene Middle School art teachers, Spanish teachers and home economics teachers to bring to life the art projects of the Hispanic and Indigenous cultures celebrating El Dia de Los Muertos, The Day of the Dead. This holiday celebration in America, known as Halloween, has taken a turn towards glorifying violence, the macabre, and death in made-for-movie ways. In the Hispanic culture, this day is intended to remember and honor our ancestors, friends and family members who have passed on. There are spiritual roots, but very worldly traditions being carried on for those who have died. We will be turning our entry-ways and dining room walls into an art studio by displaying the students artwork. This will be the 5th year we have provided these students with the materials needed to create sugar skulls from scratch and decorate them for the altars we will replicate. Every piece of artwork will show the grade and name of each student so that our guests and employees can vote for their most favorite ! This is definitely something you won't want to miss, the creativity of the students is just unbelievable ! One customer was amazed to find the "artists" were 6th, 7th and 8th graders stating he thought they had to be college students ! This promotion will run from October 27th thru November 3rd ! Come out and learn about this intriguing tradition, enjoy lunch or dinner with your friends and family and vote for your favorite artist !
